Application to the BSW Program

Each of the forms and materials below are required components of the BSW Program Application:

• BSW Major Checklist (courses needed to enter the major and graduate)

• Apply to the Baccalaureate Program online Apply to Your Major

• Personal Statement
  • There are five questions included in your online application. In preparation for applying online, please answer the questions in a separate word document. Once completed, you may Apply to Your Major and upload your Word document.
    
• Record of Volunteer or Paid Work Experience with References (pdf)
  • The 25 service hour requirement is designed to provide students with a sense of what the profession has to offer before they apply for admission to the major. A minimum of 25 hours of approved and verified service must be completed prior to admission to the major. The list of appropriate local volunteer opportunities can serve as a guide to appropriate experiences either in Bloomington/Normal or in other communities.  Note that your work must be with the recipients of the agency in which you work; clerical activities such as filing, answering phones, etc. will not be accepted.  Please contact the Director of Admissions and Recruitment, with any questions concerning the appropriateness of a specific opportunity.
