The School of Social Work is offering its annual LCSW exam prep course. Illinois State University is one of the very few Central Illinois locations to offer such a comprehensive preparation course. Taught by Illinois State School of Social Work emeritus and former NASW President Dr. Kathryn Conley Wehrmann, this 2 day licensing review course will take place Friday, May 13 and conclude Saturday, May 14, 2022 in Room 366 in the State Farm Hall of Business at the Illinois State University. "Mindfulness for Educators" presented by speaker Adena B. Meyers, Ph.D -Professor of Psychology, Coordinator, Graduate Programs in School Psychology at the Illinois State University. Dr. Adena B. Meyers is Professor in the Psychology Department and Coordinator of the Graduate Programs in School Psychology at Illinois State University. She received her training in clinical/community psychology from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. Her research focuses on contextual influences on child and adolescent development, with an emphasis on family-, school-, and community-based interventions designed to promote children’s social and emotional functioning. Her clinical interests include psychotherapeutic interventions related to stress and trauma, and mindfulness-based stress reduction. Dr. Meyers is a licensed clinical psychologist, and a trained mindfulness teacher.
This workshop is being presented by the Psychology Department. The School of Social Work will provide CEU certificates for a $30.00 fee to those licensed social work professionals (LSW, LCSW) who register and attend. Click here to register for the event. Once earned, you'll receive your CEU through email. One CE credit is awarded for every classroom contact hour. To preserve the integrity of the learning experience and to comply with the state's certification requirements, attendance for the full session is expected and participants may receive continuing education credit only for hours of actual attendance.
